There is no single element that defines the culture of Woking. It’s the combination of the immaculate, strategic golf course, the Members, the warm welcome in the charming Clubhouse, the history; there is just something unique about playing golf and building relationships here. Perhaps that is why, over recent years, we have doubled the number of category 1 golfers, perhaps it is why we now have a younger membership than we have ever had, perhaps that is why there are more social groups, player groups, dinners and weekend roll-up events. Our men's, ladies’ and junior sections are all thriving and we have a particularly large base of Members not just from Surrey but from much of south west London as our transport links from the city are so good.
Also, as we are still principally a 2-ball Club (albeit with specific windows for other formats, acknowledging that a balance is important), play is always fast which allows Members to get away after their game to do other things. or to linger for refreshments on the Wisteria-clad Pavilion terrace! The regular weekend roll-ups are a major part of Club life at Woking and they ensure that if you turn up without pre-arranged golf, you can still get a game!
